Job Title: Grant Writer & Development Manager
Hours: 25 hours per week
Employment Type: Contract (1 year contract with possibility for extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team on a part-time basis. The Grant Writer will play a key role in securing funding to support our programs and services by preparing 6–9 compelling grant proposals annually. This position operates on a contract basis and offers a flexible schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Research, identify, and evaluate potential funding opportunities aligned with KACS's mission and programs.

Write, edit, and submit clear and persuasive grant proposals and applications to foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Develop and maintain a calendar of deadlines for grant submissions, renewals, and reports.

Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary data, stories, and outcomes to support proposals.

Track and document all grant activity, including submissions, funding outcomes, and donor communications.

Assist with occasional grant reporting to ensure compliance with funders’ requirements.
Qualifications
-
Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funds from diverse sources.

Strong writing, editing, and research skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Familiarity with nonprofit operations and funding trends, particularly in the fields of social services, health, or community programs.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace; experience with grant management software is a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public health or related fields including social work, public policy, psychology, etc preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Compensation
This is a contract-based position with a competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.

Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator (Part-Time)
Hours: 15–20 hours per week
Employment Type: Temporary (1-Year Position with Possible Extension)
Position Overview
KACS is seeking a passionate and organized Community Outreach Coordinator to support and expand our civic engagement initiatives. This part-time, temporary position focuses on building coalition and community partnerships, increasing visibility and representation of the Korean and AAPI communities, and strengthening efforts in AAPI hate prevention, voter registration, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities

Civic Engagement and Advocacy:
-
Support KACS’s AAPI hate prevention initiatives, voter registration drives, and Citizenship Day events.

Build coalitions and foster collaboration with community-based organizations (CBOs), policymakers, government staff, and other stakeholders.

Organize events and outreach activities to increase civic participation and representation of the Korean and AAPI communities.

Community Outreach:
-
Conduct outreach to community members, partners, and volunteers to promote KACS’s programs and initiatives.

Represent KACS at public events, community meetings, and collaborative gatherings to build visibility.

Volunteer and Event Management:
-
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support events and programs.
-
Coordinate logistics for community events, including scheduling, communications, and materials preparation.

Stakeholder Engagement:
-
Meet with policymakers, government representatives, and CBO leaders to advocate for the needs of the Korean and AAPI communities in Santa Clara County and the Bay Area.

Identify and pursue opportunities to amplify community voices and advance civic engagement efforts.

Qualifications
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Event planning and volunteer management experience preferred.
-
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Experience in community organizing, outreach, or civic engagement, especially within AAPI communities is preferred but not required
-
Strong understanding of social justice issues, including AAPI hate prevention and voter engagement is preferred but not required
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.

Bilingual skills in Korean and English are a strong plus.
Compensation
This is a temporary position with an hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
